Semleys Joinery Ltd
These Terms & Conditions apply to all work carried out by Semleys Joinery Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”). By placing an order or instructing us to carry out work, you (“the client”) agree to the following terms.
1. Services
Semleys Joinery Ltd provides bespoke and standard joinery services, including but not limited to design, manufacture, supply, and installation of joinery products for domestic, commercial, and development projects.
All work is carried out with reasonable care and skill in accordance with industry standards.
2. Quotations & Estimates

All quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.

Quotations are based on information provided at the time and may be subject to change if specifications, materials, or site conditions change.

Estimates are not fixed prices and may vary depending on final requirements.
3. Orders & Acceptance
-
An order is deemed accepted once confirmed in writing (email or signed agreement).

Any changes requested after acceptance may affect pricing and delivery times.
4. Bespoke & Made-to-Measure Items
-
Most products supplied by Semleys Joinery Ltd are bespoke and made to order.

Once production has begun, orders for bespoke items cannot be cancelled or refunded, except where goods are faulty or not as described.

It is the client’s responsibility to ensure all measurements, designs, and specifications are approved before manufacture begins.
5. Pricing & Payment

Prices are exclusive of VAT unless stated otherwise.

Payment terms will be outlined in your quotation or invoice.

We reserve the right to request a deposit before work commences.

Final payment is due upon completion or delivery, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Late payments may result in delays to work or additional charges.
6. Cancellations

Orders may be cancelled free of charge before materials are ordered or work has commenced.

If cancelled after this point, the client may be liable for costs incurred, including materials, labour, and design work.
7. Installation & Site Conditions

Clients must ensure safe and suitable access to the site.

Any delays caused by restricted access, incomplete works by others, or unsafe conditions may incur additional costs.

We are not responsible for delays caused by factors beyond our control (e.g. supplier delays, weather conditions).
8. Completion & Snagging
-
Minor snagging issues should be reported within 7 days of completion.

Normal characteristics of natural materials (such as timber grain variation or minor movement) are not considered defects.
9. Faults & Warranty
-
Any faults must be reported within a reasonable time.

Our liability is limited to repairing or replacing defective workmanship or materials.

We are not responsible for damage caused by misuse, neglect, or third-party interference.
This does not affect your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

11. Liability

We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses.

Our total liability shall not exceed the value of the contract.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
12. Intellectual Property
All designs, drawings, and materials produced by Semleys Joinery Ltd remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing.
13. Photography & Marketing
We reserve the right to take photographs of completed work for portfolio and marketing purposes unless the client requests otherwise in writing.
14. Governing Law
These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
